Glooooomy day but, thought I'd give it a try. Caught this male Downy woodpecker again. I think I need to wash the windows again, too. :)

Have you tried to sharpen in Gimp? I think with upping the contrast and then sharpening, this should just "POP".

uh... you should've seen it BEFORE. Lighting was bad (extremely overcast)and dirty windows don't make for a pop. ;) BUT, have a look at this. Done in Fotox:

Much better - a lot more of the detail comes out. Very nice.

Yeh Great shot Gary, Whilst you are washing the windows, perhaps you could invite woody to have a bath in the water, looks like his belly could do with a good wash. :D
