THAT'S TERRIBLE!

Just kidding, John. It's terrific. Is that a panorama? Nice vibrant colors. Puts me right there.

hi gaz

no its not a panorama - taken with a standard 18-55 kit lens.

Im thinking about getting the canon 24-70mm f2.8?

But hear this, at pixels.ie its €1500, and in New York its €690 equivalent!!

What a bargain, I think I should due to substantial saving alone plus it being a absolute gem of a lens. its L glass!

what do you think?

Not owning a DSLR, I really can't say, John. However, I'm a bargain shopper and at less than HALF of what it's costing at the local stores (I assume that's what Pixels is), it's a no-brainer. If you got it in New York, I assume you'd have it shipped. Watch the shipping. It could kill any savings you realize in the deal. Unless, of course, you're making another trip across the pond and picking it up personally... heheh

Wow! What a beautiful landscape...it's been so long since I saw green grass, I about forgot what it looked like. I've got one question..how do you have green grass but no leaves on the trees?

WOW that photo is beautiful! That grass looks too green to have those bare trees close by!

This is a lovely shot. And yes, how is it there is green grass and bare trees?

Nice shot. It reminds me of a place we have close to here.

For those asking about the green grass and the trees with no leaves, we have that here in the UK. During winter, our grass usually stays green (or muddy) but a lot of the trees loose thier leaves.

Ok, that settles it...I'm retiring and moving to the UK...I've always said I could handle the winter if the grass would stay green...:D

To be honest, we have not had much of a winter at all really, which really upsets me because I know that if we do not have a really cold winter, the Wasps and Bees Thrive and do not die off over winter, so come summer, there are tons of the little pests around.

It has been quite warm so far, we have had a week or so where it has been bitterly cold but other than that, we have not even had ice on the cars!!!! Perhaps, our winter is yet to come but I doubt it.

Andy -

If you like and if I could, I would gladly send you some winter. We had a very cold/windy weekend and now it's supposed to snow off and on all week, and of course stay cold. I know it hasn't been much better for Mary. The biggest difference between where each of lives is that she's gotten a ton of snow. We're about 30"-40" below normal for the year for snowfall - it just keeps going south.

That's very kind of you Debbie. I don't mind the snow but you can keep the wind! I can cope with the cold but when it has a strong wind with it, it is not nice at all.

It's the type of wind that goes right through you. Sat and yesterday had windchills of -35 to -45. Can't wait for Spring.

Ouch. I hate wind like that. It's best to stay indoors in front of the fire.

Well, I don't have a fireplace, but I lit candles and shut the door to keep in the warmth. Does that count?

You may need more than one candle (Unless it's a very big one) but yeh that still counts. Or just turn the central heating up! Failing that, a very large blanket and a glass of Brandy!! I know which I would prefer.:D:D
