View Full Version : Australian Birds
I was out walking the other day and came across many cockatoos on a lawn. An elderly man saw me, and invited me up onto his balcony, as I was trying to get a nice shot of one in flight.
Well, my in-flight shots were blurred:D, so will post a couple of still ones.

Kaye,
These are amazing......such detail & color. Which lens were you using?

Thanks very much Randy for the kind comment.
I used my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 for the first 4 shots (I just added another one), and my Nikon 18-105mm for the 5th shot.
I am very happy with the Tamron... it is nice and sharp if I don't move when taking the shot.
I'm not sure if I have posted this one before, but I also used the Tamron for this shot (cropped, as they were a fair distance away):

Thanks for checking these out Michael. I is me in the close up of the cockateil, and in the 5th shot, it is a friend... a tall guy.
Well done, Kaye.
Thanks very much, Jim.

Very nice series Kaye. I especially like the last two. You meet the nicest people who invite you to come closer!!
Thanks for viewing these Marianne and for your kind comment.
I also come across some cranky people who ask "What are you doing"... they think I may be photographing their house or something!

Very nice series of shots Kaye. The focuses on the eyes are perfect.
