I'm sooooo sorry to hear that someone else is getting snow...we got a dusting last night...guess it needed to cover our dirty snow..:)

But, south of us they got another round of inch ice...I'm glad it didn't make it this far north. I don't like snow but I detest ice...we were in the teens again yesterday with wind chills of -10...burrrrrrrr

Ok...questions...what does it mean by M42 lens? On the site you so graciously looked up for me, it says that the macro extension has to go on a M42 lens...I don't have a clue what this means. I think I know my camera and then I come across stuff like this and realize I don't know anymore about my camera than I do my car...I know where to turn both of them on and that's it....:D

It's just another adapter from the looks of things. Here's another URL that shows one (not for your camera) but at least you can get the concept. http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.php?productid=16693

Here's where you can get one:

Ok, I can see this is going to take a lot more research on my part before I understand the extension tubes. I'm going to try doing some macro with my other lenses and will study this more before I invest in the extension. I do think I'll do the teleconverter though cause that isn't quite so confusing and I'd love to have more focal length on my 300mm. Thank you, Gary, for looking this stuff up for me...I'm off today for another doctors appointment and we have to be leaving around 10 but it should give me some time to do some more reading up on this.

Glad I could help, Mary.

Hope the doctor thing is nothing serious. Safe travel.

Here ya go, Deb. Right from Canon. You'll need to click on the little picture in the right-hand column towards the bottom that says, "Using IS and Macro Lenses". That should get ya goin'.

Well - I don't have a macro lens, but I do have an idea now for a macro shot. I'll give it a try later today. Thanks for the link. I never think about going to the Canon site. I have it bookmarked now.

We've gotten record amounts of snow this year. We are getting hammered with snow fall after snow fall and a couple of days break in between the falls.

I am also SO ready for spring to arrive.

It's not even snow here anymore. It rained and froze. So, what WAS snow is now heavily crust junk. Geeeez... I hate this crap.
