In November my youngest son Erik (15) was selected by the City of Niagara Falls and his peers to be Medal Bearer #1 for the Rick Hansen man in Motion World Tour. For anyone who doesn't know. Rick Hansen is from British Columbia Canada and is a parapaligic and is a Paralympian. 25 years ago he wanted to bring awareneness world wide to make things more accessable for individuals with disabilities. He literally wheeled around the world in his wheelchair to bring awareness and to raise funds. My son is an arm amputee from birth and carried the medal with so much pride to carry on the dream. I took the day off work to witness this...Camera in hand and not even realizing it I ran with him :) snapping away.
Some of the pics may not be the best quality as I haven't mastered the art of running and photography and because it was a go go go morning. I just wanted to share as I am so proud of my son :)
He is also on his high school basketball team, badminton team and plays soccer and is an inspiration to those around him.
Thanks for looking.

Congratulations to both you and your Son, John. It would have been an honour for him to be selected for this.
Also, I think you need to give lessons on how to take a great shot whilst running backwards:) It is nice and sharp, and your other shots are brilliant also.
We've already had our Christmas day today, and yours I guess is just about to start. Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for the kind words Kaye. It was a huge honor for him and an equally proud "dad" moment for me. My son is my HERO!!! Well... I'll let the secret out. A fast shutter speed and continuous shooting is about it. And a silicone eye piece around the view finder lol :) We have just finished dishes , cleaning, breaking down boxes and the baby is fast asleep. I think I'm going to play with the camera and the Christmas tree now :)
