I wanted to post this. It's a pic my Brother-in-Law just sent me that he took a few days ago during a snow storm near Chicago. What does everyone think about it?

Interesting and a nice shot. I think there was a bit of post processing becuase skies are rarely blue when it snows hard during a snow storm and the colors look a little desaturated (trees are B&W, not shades of brown and green). I have yet to see snow look semi-transparent or that "large" in any of my pics, leading me to believe that some effect had to be applied to it, but it gives this nice soft nostalgic feel to it that is very pleasant.

Makes snow look better than it ought to! :p :D

I thought the same as Jerry, The trees dont look real, it is a nice picture but just has that element of over processing on it. Having said that, it would not look out of place on a christmas card.

Joseph - Was this taken at night? And when looking close, there's something not right about the trees.

It almost looks like a photo taken of a winter cartoon on the tv! Thats why I said it looks like a winter tv show or a christmas card. I think its cool!
