I took this panorama freehand out the back window where I work. Just to prove we DO have snow on the ground. It's 3 shots. Not a very good panorama because of no tripod and my old eyes just didn't line it up very well.

It shows up here, and dang for a manual picture stitch, thats very good!!
I use a program called AutoPano and it does some nice things like auto-aligning and even removing the ghosts when overlapping pics. I just got it becuase I wanted to try it out, but the results were pretty good for a first try.

A two-shot panorama of the area leading down to the previous shot.
Both taken freehand with my A720IS.

Thanks very much, Jerry. I'm running a Linux box and have to do some unconventional things to get some conventional results. But, they work very well. I use a program called, Fotox for my panoramas. It's quite good as you can see. Not bad for open source software.

Thanks, just thought I'd show Andy the results of a Kentucky "blizzard" is like. I know it's nothing compared to what you guys up north get. I lived in Cleveland, OH for the first 28 years of my life and I've seen "the lake effect" way too often. Hated it then, hate it now. :)

I need to start taking my camera to work with me... lol This morning we had yet another snow storm with 2 foot drifts. In the country, this is nothing, but in the city, that means that sidewalks are impossible to navigate safely... especially when you have a huge industial sized snow plow pushing things through the streets an hour before rush hour.
I had the potential of taking a few pics of this and how the people were challenged (in some cases) to walk for blocks in this weather. It would have made a few nice photos.
Looking out my window, I see it start to snow again. At least its not as heavy as it was last night.
When does spring come again? I am so over-wintered this year and ready for some warmth!

Would make for some GREAT cityscape shots. Our snow should be pretty-much gone by tomorrow. I can't say I'll miss it. heheh

Gary -
I would never have guessed your first picture is stiched together - looks great. We just got another 2"-3" of snow yesterday. I'm going to try and get out tomorrow for some clean snow shots, but not ready for panoramas.
Jerry - I've been seeing some great sunrises over the trees where I work, guess I'll have to start bringing the camera to work as well.
