Wahooo....you did it! And great photos too...I like how you can see the snow they are kicking up...you did GREAT! And they were much more interesting to expose than boring ole cars...
It's on to lesson 4! I'm still struggling with it..I understand the concept but having trouble putting the concept to an image. I worked on it yesterday morning but wasn't happy with my results so didn't submit any to Peter. Maybe next weekend.

We went to a miniature horse farm today and as I wait for answers here, I've been looking at some of the pix I took and can't believe some of these actually turned out. I just came across another one that shows the running horse but sharp background. I'll get that one up in a few minutes.

The day I did my assignment, I didn't really think I was getting it done right either. It was only after I uploaded them to my computer and started really looking at them that I realized I'd gotten it...:D

Wow, Debbie, this one is really GREAT...it looks like he/she is going to gallop right off the screen.. perfect panning exposure.

Thanks - I'm still going through the rest of the pictures. This is so exciting. The owner was able to get all the horses running at the same time - it was really cool, but as I was shooting, I really wasn't sure how they were going to turn out.

Don't it make you feel good when you see some good ones? I love that...too bad it doesn't happen as often as I would like. I shot a ton Sat. morning and none of them excited me...only got the camera out today to try out my flash. My hubby bought me one for Christmas and it just got here the end of Jan. I hadn't tried it out till today and I love it...I couldn't believe the difference it made in my indoor shots. Now to get the instruction manual read so I will know more about how to use it..

Cool photos Debbie! I just told my husband when the horse track opens up I would love to get panning photos. I feel so sorry for those horses though, and of course we do not gamble so the only fun that I do have is watching them! My husband told me these horses have it better than we do! Probably true!

I was out yesterday morning trying the panning thing and just didn't get it, but today WOW. I don't know if I'll be able to do it again, but at least once, I'm okay with.
I have a flash too - haven't even used it yet, I think I know how to turn it on. I think for right now, that's a "later" project.

Do not laugh out loud, ok? I put mine on my camera and went in to take a picture of my husband and it didn't fire..I thought I'd put it on the camera wrong...didn't darn on me to put batteries in it...hey! I said not to laugh out loud....:D:D

Thats too funny. I posted somewhere on here yesterday, that I finally got my tethered shooting to work via the computer, and I kept shooting my husband and he finally said "OK IM GOING BLIND THATS ENOUGH" hahahahaha poor guy!

I don't even try to take pictures of my husband any more. I do get the occasional "together" shot when on a long vacation weekend.

I usually get some pretty dirty looks from mine. He hates to have his picture taken, so I tell him I'm practicing and he allows a few....;)

The only reason I get the ones I do is that I also scrapbook our travels and I like to have a picture of the two of us for the memories. And can you believe that you and I have taken this thread to two pages almost by ourselves?

Do you reckon they will rate the thread? :D I can't hardly get ones of the two of us at all...he just hates to have his picture taken. On Christmas morning I set up the tripod and used the cable remote to get a picture of the two of us in front of the tree...I took over 20 pictures and not one of them had his eyes open...I accused him of doing it on purpose but he says he didn't...he's had so many laser surgeries that he blinks constantly...

That's a pretty limp excuse for the eyes.
What do you mean "rate the thread". Who does that? I was wondering if I should start a new one, then we wouldn't have to subject others to our chit-chat.

Heck, I don't know...I just noticed the rate the thread on the forum...I clicked on it by mistake when I was going to the quick links...wondered if they were rate it pg, adult, etc...:D I guess it should be under open talk and not course activity.:)

Yep - I'll repost the pictures to a new thread. It started out at course activity. I really need to quit this tonite, I took close to 150 pix today and I have to decide which ones I want to print before final class on Tuesday. I'm actually going to take them in rather than print out, otherwise it'll take me forever to print.
