I didn't want to say anything but that last photo was photoshop gone bad! I want to be a perfessional some day! Gary I hope this isn't you advertising on there...then again I don't think your name is Mary but hey your wifes could be! ugh I better shut up! I didn't know if you were advertising incognito. The old adage "You get what you pay for" certainly rings true in this case.

There is a LOT of friction between professional photographers and the new generation of amateurs today. With equipment quality rising and becoming affordable, people think that because their camera can take nice photos that they are instantly as good as a pro. This is more true in the wedding venue than anywhere else.

They have absolutely NO idea what they are talking about and 99% of the time they are not that great (as we all just saw), in the first place.

heh Portraits are not my forte', Sue. Especially, portraits of this quality. Aside from a couple of typos every now and again, I consider my spelling, grammar and puncuation a quantum leap above what you read in this "advert". However, if I were to go incognito, this would sure be a great way to do it. I will give credit where credit is due: the person that put this little gem together at least knows they're NOT a "perfessional" (quite frankly, I'm surprised she got that close to the correct spelling).

Yeah your right. I spell really well also, but when I am typing on the computer I am usually in such a hurry that I don't even use proper grammar - I would however use spell check or a dictionary if I placed an ad. She did admit that she isn't a PRO, and that is more than I can say for a lot of new photographers! I am not a pro myself and when people ask me to take photos I turn them down everything unless it is my family, or close friends.

I was asked to do a wedding, and I did do it... but only as a secondary photographer and that the primary was a professional. I then struck a friendly deal with the pro to "ghost" them in a respectful manner and use it as a learning experience. I was so unobtrusive that the pro asked me if I was interested to come back for a second time and since he was nice enough to do that, when again someone asked me, I highly recommended this same photographer and did it a third time.

I think that 3 is my limit, though.

You wouldn't do it again? May I ask why? I am just curious.

Woah, someone call in the X files, that last shot is un-earthley!!

Not a very good advertisement, unless you are looking for the unusual!

I'd love to do it again, but it was just one of those things where 3 was his limit, and I can respect that.

On top of that, right now even if I wanted to, I could not, at least not for the next 5-6 months... my business is taking up a LOT of my time now.
