I like that Marianne, I like the way you use a dark background to highlight the bloom. Is this a succulent? as I think we have that plant in NZ. If not something very similiar.

Thanks Delboy. This is an evergreen bush that blooms all year long here in San Diego. The leaves are dark green and waxy which sets off these very small delicate flowers. Some bloom white, too.

very pretty
I really like your dark background makes the pink even pinker
Very pretty, Marianne. I also love the pink on the dark background.
What were your aperture and shutter settings for this shot when you have time?

Thank you Sandy and Kaye! I also love the pink on black!! I actually had the small vase on the window sill and I put a sheet of black construction paper behind it! My settings for this are:
f9, 1/3 sec, ISO 100, -1 step exp bias, 50 mm, tripod mounted and AP mode.
Thanks for your nice comments!!

I like it too, Marianne. The color contrast is awesome, and the DOF works very well too.

Thanks John and Jim. The DoF was what i was after here. I used my macro lens and believe it or not closed up the aperture a bit more than I started with. Sometimes I go over board with too wide, but i am still learning!! Always appreciate the feedback!!
