Shot these at my sister's house whilst away a few weeks ago. Her Zinnia's were SO bright, as you will see in the second shot. No.2 I cropped in half.
Thanks for looking.

I agree, Kaye. The colors really pop and the detail in the bee is wonderful. I always try various f-stops when doing insect closeups because I try to keep to whole insect in focus. The insect don't usually stay in their poses for me to do that though lol.

Thanks so much for your feedback, Jim. I did vary my f/stop and shutter with the numerous similar shots I took, but it was so bright, it was difficult to see the image on the screen.
I too was trying to keep the whole insect in focus, but must agree with you that these bees did not pose for long at all:D My settings for both of these were F/10 and 1/1000sec. When I saw them on my monitor, I thought I could have perhaps gone a couple of stops smaller, or an even faster shutter.

Beautiful shot Kaye. Nice and sharp. Love the colours.

Thanks so much for viewing these Tenny, and for your kind comment.

I just added the full version of No. 2 above, but think I prefer the cropped version.

The first shot is so well done, Kaye. I also prefer the crop instead of the full for the second shot.

Thanks so much for your feedback, Marianne. Glad you like the first shot. I feel that the close up shots are too bright, although this is how they looked. I actually toned down the saturation a touch.

Beautiful photos Kaye, I seem to like #2 & #3 the most out of them

Excellent series, Kaye. The detail on the bee is incredible and I can't get over those vivid colors. Very well done.

Eddie, thank you very much for your kind feedback.
Although I shot these at around 9am, the sun was so bright. As I said to Jim on Page 1, I feel I should have used a smaller aperture and/or slightly faster shutter on these.
This is how we learn I guess.
