A recent shot taken out in the Joshua Tree National Preserve near the California / Nevada border. Thanks for taking a look.

Eddie, your B&W's are becoming spectacular. This is really beautiful.

I love your composition, and what unusual trees (at least for me). The light in the sky is just perfect to show the lovely cloud formation, and I really love your sun 'star' through the tree.
I am presuming there is a hint of HDR processing which is nice... overall an awesome shot.

I agree with Kaye, Eddie. I also love the sun flare peaking through the tree

Wow, thanks so much for your kind words, Kaye. This preserve covers over 800,000 acres and you are surrounded by these Joshua Trees so after a while, they start to look alike. It was the sun peeking through this particular tree that caught my eye, so I wanted to capture it with the sunburst coming through. You eye is spot on with the processing. There was a little HDR processing, but not much at all. I just wanted to bring up a few of the shadows in the foreground a bit. I'm glad you like the shot.

Thank you very much, Jim. I have been to this area a couple of times and I could probably spend a week wandering around, hiking on some of the hiking trails they have and observing the wildlife. I am going to try to go back later this month or next month when the flowers start to bloom up there.

Very nice! I have thought for a long time that the Joshua Tree NP would make for some stunning B&W images. This is fantastic.

Thanks very much, Scott. I'm looking forward to editing a few of the others that I shot as well.

Very nice Eddie. I loved these trees when I visited a number of years ago, I also loved the lighting in this part of the world. (The scenery on this holiday trip inspired me to take the course!) Am envious, would love to join you on a revisit.

Thank you so much, Shirley. These trees certainly have a lot of character to them but it's certainly not a place I would want to be alone after dark. : ) I would love to have you join me on a revisit someday. If you ever make it out this way, let me know and we will make some time to go there and explore.
