B&W Photos I shot, Having a hard time deciding on which one to submit for assingment 7, since you can only sent one. I am really leaning towards the Ice Climber Shot.
Comments/Suggustions Welcome. First time posting, hope I did it right.
Thanks Dallas

I like the ice climber as well, however I would suggest cropping it so that the climber is either top left, showing where he came from a little... or that he is placed bottom right, showing how far he yet needs to go.

Make sure not to chop off any limbs on your climber.

Welcome to the group dallasm.

I agree with Jerry on the climber, shows a nice mix of B&W.

Love the climber. Good contrast. There isn't much room there to crop that pic any farther. I do agree with Jerry on the composition though. Might have made a little better composition to see a little more of the ice the climber has yet to climb.

A lot of the detail is lost in the shadows also. A little fill flash would have been great on this photo.

Very nice shot. :-)

I definitely like the B&W better. And love the second from the left. Just by cropping a little so so you can see what's above her, changed the compostion completely. Now it looks like she's almost made it to the top in that shot. Wonderful!

I was thinking something more like this?

With the head looking down, you can almost feel the distance... but looking up and to the left you see that there is a ways to go.

With all due respect Jerry, I don't like that composition. Her body leads ones eye right off the picture instead of into it. Just my opinion though.

As for me, I prefer the other two (sorry!), I prefer the textures in the other two. If I had to choose I would go for the last one.

Thats the fun part about photography... 10 people can look at one thing and have 10 completely different opinions. It's all about whatever makes you happy, and I do not have to agree or disagree with anyone's opinion, but I will always respect it. :)

You are right Jerry. When I read your post I thought about art work like paintings and how some are worth millions. I look at some of them and think a child drew them, or I could have done it. Photography is the same way. That's what makes it so wonderful.

Hi Dallasm,

Here's my opinion, I prefer the last two. I feel the best one is the second one, the texture in the shot is very nice and the framing of the shot using the two windows is excellent. I think this one works very well in B&W. The last one, although I like it alot, I feel this would be better in colour but not sure. It does work very well.

Well, guess I might as well leave my opinion too...:D
I like the middle one...I think it would also look good with the B/W and the middle in color. I love framed shots and this one is perfect.

Sorry, I've been absent for a while. I liked and still do like the middle one of the first three you posted. The one looking though the window.
