I'm still taking the coarse. I went one day and took this image and I was wandering what you think. I've just started taking pictures this January. Well other than just point and shoot photography.

Interesting composition and a nice picture. It has many components to it, leading lines, rule of thirds, object blacked out by front lighting and even a light abstract feel caused by the tree branches.
I get this feeling of age becuase of the antique cannon. I wonder if it could be heightened by turning it into a B&W or sepia and adding some "old film" style articats and grain... just thinking out loud.
Nice picture. :)

Nice. I like how you framed the cannon with the tree. I also think B&W might be a neat option.

I just love this picture. Like you I've only started the course and not yet qualified to comment on the finer points of the capture. Congrats on a great image.

Everyone is qualified to comment, its how we learn what to look for in a critique and in our own pictures. I take everyone's comments (good and not so good), and learn from them.

I too think this this would look very nice in B&W or a sepia. It would give it more of an "old age" look.
