For these images, I used a large clear bowl half filled with water and a couple of small pink daisies suspended in the water. I took the shots through the glass.
My aim here was to try to achieve a nice floral softness with varying soft pastels. (I placed a colorful place mat behind the bowl). I have many more, but not enough time!

Thanks for looking. All CC welcome.

Thanks so much Jim for your thoughts here. Much appreciated.
#4 is a crop of #3 as you probably gathered.

Great shots Kaye. I really like number 1 and number 3 i like how you can see the bubbles in 1 and the sharpness you got in 3. Also i like the background it fits in
with your idea well.

Hi Kaye....glad you're posting again!!! Here's my 2 cents.
1. Just my opinion, but it seems a bit soft to me.
2. Such a delicate and lovely shot. The beautiful colors really stand out and I love the composition.
3 and 4. Love these, in fact I think the crop is more interesting, but in both nice sharp details and great composition.
5. Like Sandra said, this is really cool, like an abstract!!

Your florals are always so good and these are no exception!

Thanks so much, Nash for your kind comment. I must agree with Marianne though, that #1 should be sharper. I will try some more one day.

Thank you very much, Sandra.
I thought of you when I posted these. I always like to show how I did it and what I used in case anyone is interested.
I am really glad you like them.
#4 & 5 are my personal favourites. I printed them for a small art show a couple of weeks ago.
When I saw them in print, #5 stands out the best.

Thanks, Marianne. I love your honest opinions.
It's funny, my idea for these shots was 'soft' floral, but after viewing them often, I have to agree with you about #1, that it does need more sharpness. I am trying not to sharpen much in edit, as I am becoming more annoyed with any noise in my images.
#2 has been possibly the best like on my FAA site, but I was not so keen on this one.
3 & 4. Glad you like these... I too like the crop better, although more pastel background in 4.
#5. Glad you like this abstract... as I said to Sandra, this one came out rather nice printed.

Really nice series.
I think you achieved your goals perfectly.

Thank you very much, Matt. Plenty of room for improvement, but I can try many more for practice.

Hi Kaye,
Very nice series. I have to agree with Sandra. It's very creative idea. I love the colours and the floral softness. My favorite is #5. Did you try throwing it into the water and take the picture of it splashing too?

Thank you very much, Tenny. I did not try throwing one in the water... difficult with the bowl I used, but a great idea. That third helping hand would be useful!

Thank you so much both Joseph and Eddie for viewing and for your kind feedback. #4 & #5 do seem to be the favorites, and they were my favorites too.
It's funny, I recently acquired this rather large second hand glass bowl which sat in the spare room for a few weeks whilst I imagined what I would do with it. As soon as the sun came out one day, (which doesn't happen often at the moment)... all thoughts came to mind with the use of the sunlight on the water and a simple flower.
I hope to improve further next time I try this.
