Snow, bright sun and reasonably warm temps - time to go outside. Just a few pix from our ice-fishing outing today. I caught the fish, but the hubby had to hold it for pictures. The truck is to show that we actually drove out to the middle of the lake.

I am liking the pics a lot... but even more that you took the time to set the camera to manual, set your aperture and speed and get still get a very nice shot!

The only thing I would have changed is the ISO... from 400 down to it's lowest, likely 100.

Again - thank you. After being berated by my photo instructor, I shoot just about everything on manual and "meter correctly".

Hey Debbie I am getting ready to sign up for a college course in photography. I need all the help I can get! I am excited I really cannot wait. My son races ATVs and he is sponsored by a major company and every time he is at a race he wants to pay for the photos from the "photo" guys, and to tell you the truth they are not that good at all! I will save some money by being able to take his photos for him. I actually am looking forward to it. He has a few "pro" friends that are interested in me taking photos for them as well. I do not want to do it for a job, but rather enjoyment.

It looks like you have a wonderful chance to both expand your photography and on top of it get some money back out of the process.

Is your course online or do you go to the local college several times a week? Day or night courses?

Some people say that the market is saturated with photographers, but if that was so, why is it so easy (relatively speaking) to break into the market as a professional and supplement income in that manner? I say that though there may be a glut, not many of them are really good photographers that really know what they are doing. When a good one is found, the opportunities roll in.

Seems those opportunities are finding you already! :)
