Does anyone know where to get a good light meter/flash meter that doesn't cost as much as my camera? I Know it wont be cheap but I need one for class. I would like the one that does all of the lighting situations. Ambient/strobe etc. Maybe someone can give me a heads up on this, because I have never used one.

Here is the light meter I have. It works well, but I haven't yet used it much.

Sekonics is the one that everyone talks about on the net. I'll be ordering one in a few months.
THIS (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007E89K/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3AIDT5NJA0FQR&colid=39VWSI6QPLH2C) is the one that I am getting.

I have an older Honeywell from my father's hey-days, and it works quite well... but is not digital. If you could find one of those, you are looking at well under $100. Try a local pawnshop. The last time I went to one about 6 months ago, they had a dozen there in the window.

Thanks guys that helps. The one that you want to get Jerry looks really nice. I was looking at sekonic and it was like 497.00 I thought "Ugh not that one" It would be nice, but I cannot afford that right now.

I would recommend the Sekonic L308. I use one, its really simple and dependable. It doesn't have a lot of features that you will never use or make it confusing. They work with strobe, ambient, or reflective light. I think they run about $179. I use mine for setting light ratios in studio work and for mixing flash and daylight outside.

That Sekonic L359 (http://www.amazon.com/Sekonic-Weatherproof-Digital-Incident-Reflected/dp/B00007E89K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1205873156&sr=8-1) is going for about $235. ;)

Your questions and answers got me thinking. Did the research and ordered from B&H the Sekonic L308s. Should be here in a couple of days. I think it will do everything i want.

Yep I already bought one. Sekonic L-358, and I must say that I am pleased with how it works. Works great with my Pocket Wizard II's. I figured I would stay away from the L758 until I got to know mine a little better. Hey it does the job, and does it well! WHHHOOOPPSS this is an old post up above -sorry.
