St Patrick's Day Parade, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

A slideshow of the event as seen through my camera. I came way too early, but that was good, as there wasn't a free parking spot within 1.5 miles of the event within an hour of it starting.

Anyways, here (http://flickr.com/photos/jerryph/sets/72157604136892371/show/) they are. To save uploading time, they were resized and uploaded in 800 X 600 size bu fllickr. Not the best quality, as flickr often makes my pics look like crap at this size when I let it do the resizing... but I was pressed for time.

Wow..you do St. Pat's day big up there, don't you? I don't think I saw a single soul today with green on...didn't even remember it was St. Pat's day till someone told me have a happy one.

I have a friend that lives in Chicago, and based on what they tell me, we are quite a ways behind when it comes to partying on this day. Apparently the event pulls over 175,000 people and they go so far as to turn the river green for the duration of the parade. In fiarness, I did have one green beer... lol

Now THAT is getting into the spirit of things! :D

Next year, I am thinking of going down there for a visit and seeing this all for myself. Of course, if the river does turn green... I am getting a picture of that!

We have a river here in Ohio that is the Cuyahoga river, and it used to be green at one time from TOXINS. Yuk. It has been cleaned up since then, but hey it was already set for St. Patricks Day!
