First last month I got frauded out of over 2g's on a camera. Claim is still pending and will be for another month or more. Then at the photog seminar I met Debbie at, I broke down and bought a 40d from the Hunt's vender. It has a shutter button issue. WAY too much force is needed to actuate the shutter. They are sending me a new one out today, then will credit me the extra charge when I send the defective one back.
Now I have a few L lenses due for delivery tomorrow, along with some other odds and ends. I'm afraid to open the box!! I'm hoping for the best, but it's not easy staying optomistic(sp).

Boy - when it rains it pours. In 2 years, you will look back on this and laugh (I hope). You can only go up from here, so with that said, your new glass and accessories will be just fine.

Thanks Debbie, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and toes crossed, rabbits foot in my pocket, put all the mirrors away for a while, locked my black cat up, and a few other things I can't disclose here.

Sheesh Joseph, sorry to hear about that. There are a lot of people out there that are a little less than honest than what we would be like in the same circumstances.
I mean no offence, but If this is happening specifically to you as often as it is, perhaps you need to look at your methodology for making purchases? Always assume that if a price looks too good to be true... it is. One time out of 10 it may not be, but its not worth the getting scammed the other 9 times and going through all the hassles.
On a more fun note, if what you ordered and shall receive are Canon "L" class lenses, they are in general all built like tanks as well as deliver some incredible IQ. You are in for some fun times with that really incredible glass. :)

I made a big mistake with eNay, but the camera with the shutter issue was bran new. I couldn't have known that. Just rotten luck.

Hey Joseph do not feel bad, because I try not to buy anything from Ebay unless it is under say 20 or 30 $$$, but even when I buy something from a well known store that is 100% new, I sometimes an unlucky because I get broken stuff. My husband just bought a VERY VERY expensive Harmon Kardon surround sound system ...it has something wrong with it and it needs to go back! It is very frustrating!

Ya one of the plastic clips that hold the battery in came flying out as soon as I opened the battery compartment. But they are taking care of it there at B&H. And of course I'm not claiming that I somehow have cornered the market on bad luck, but with buying camera equipement, you don't want to get too close to me. :-)

Well, I am sure that B&H will take good care of you. IMHO, they are a fair and good supplier.
What can you say? Sometimes, the feces strikes the rotary air displacement device. lol

My replacement camera 40D arrived today and it works great. The shutter button is smooth like it should be, and even noticed a big difference in the sharpness between the two with the same in-camera settings.
While testing the first one I noticed while zooming in on a shot, it wasn't as crisp as I thought it would be. But there's a very large improvement with the replacement. So as it turns out, I'm glad I had a shutter button issue.

Wow, Joseph, I thought I was the one with all the bad luck. Glad to see I'm not alone in my little room...:D I'm sure your luck will start improving now...already has with the new camera, right? I'll sure be anxious to see some new photos with that new camera!
