I would love to own a cabin in the woods in Gatinburg! We looked a few years ago, but I was informed that we would have a HARD time finding homeowners insurance. I guess now they are pretty particular of who they insure. They were several reasons why...fire damage, and also tree damage. HAHA funny a tree fell through our house in the middle of OHIO, and it wasn't even in the mountains!

With the average 2-bedroom apartment going for $2500 a month, I can't even begin to fathom what a house would cost. I don't WANT to know.

They were $$$$ when we were looking, and they are only going up and up. I did find one for around 400,000 but it needed some work. hahaha how funny is that?

You can find some really nice cottages for cheap. (well compared to what our homes are in our area) Look at this little cottage there. The lot is 0 though. it has 2 full and 2 half baths wow

Holy cow!! I know that cabin!! We drove right by it 2 or 3 times and kind of chuckled at how much they might be asking for it. Thought it would be a LOT, LOT more. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

if you go to homes.com there are a lot of homes that are reasonable there. I thought they were muh more as well. There is even a hot tub on the deck!

haha all I can do is dream. :D Eventually we are moving, but we have not decided where as of yet. We are still searching areas. I really hate this area with a passion.

Me too... and I don't even live there. heheheheh But, then.... I'm not wild about here. It's where I got a job after leaving the Navy, though. I'd love to live in Reno or Fallon, NV again. Maybe after I retire. Or not. I dunno. I'm not in control.

We are checking out Henderson Nevada, and a couple other places in Nevada. So far, that is one of my favorite places.
