Hi all, my name is Nosheen. My interest in photography started when I took a photography course in high school. We had to make our own box camera and shoot with it. It was such a simple camera but so much fun! Hope to learn a lot from the forums and the course.
Peace

ok, here is my little intro info. My name is Susan, and I have always been in love with photography. It wasn't until recently that I became so involved with it. I plan to eventually become a Pro photographer. My husband owns a company and I do all of his photos. I do all interior/exterior photos for advertisements, as well as his portfolio. I also, want to do all of my family portraits myself, because I have had too many mess ups at studios. I am 38 and have 4 kids. (2 boys ages 21 (in june) and 17 and 2 girls ages 13 and 5) (Yes I had my first son when I was very young) I am also signed up at an Art University for a degree in Photography with a concentration in advertising/illustration. Hope this helps a little!

OK - I'll go next.
My name is Debbie and got serious about taking photographs last fall and not sure what direction I want to take. I'm close to 50, one son (28) and two incredibly wonderful grandsons(and hoping for a princess), ages 5and 1.

lol I'm always excited to see photos regardless.
My background in photography is fairly straightforward. I got bit by the bug so to speak in highschool and further fueled the fire when I became yearbook editor. Then I could borrow the school's more spiffy camera instead of the outdated compact I used back then. Since I've graduated I had to update camera's once I gave the schools back :p I just turned 20 so this course is to really help me learn and get to the point where my camera is a fully functioning appendage instead of one with pinched nerves. The idea is to get a feel for the equipment and see if I want to dive into the DSLR world and possibly a course at ADAC.
I live in the boondocks so I'm primarely a nature photographer. Landscapes, wildlife, farmlife mostly and I would really like to help boost my people pics. This would give me an advantage like Sue mentioned. Not so much because I've had bad studio experiences but because taking the picture as well as knowing the subjects adds just one more level for me.
That'll be it for now...I got a tad longwinded :o

This is really fun getting to introduce ourselves. I think Gary was really the only one that had a full introduction.

Thanks Susan. I hope all goes as you have planned :)
I'm also thinking of taking some courses at the local college, once I'll complete my current degree.

I usually post on Pbase, I forget about the galleries here. If you check through the threads, you should be able to find a few links to my Pbase photos.

Welcome Nosheen - I have only completed the 1st 2 lessons so far but have learnt a lot already. I am 37 with 2 children one aged 2 and the other is 3 months. The forum is really friendly and I wish I had more time between nappies and potty training to do a lot more. I have just ventured into the world of SLR's after my brother bought one. I have the bug but at the moment my poor kids usually end up the subjects. LOL Looking forward to seeing some of your shots.
Enjoy the course

Well, guess its my turn. My name is Mary and I'm one of the older members but I'm not telling my age here...:D I have worked for Big Brown for 24 years and hope to be able to retire in another 3 1/2. I have two children...both 35 (nope, not twins, my son is my hubbys but has been mine since he was 4). We have 4 wonderful, lovely, fantastic grandchildren...ages 8,7,6 and 1. My love for photography began years ago when my folks bought me a camera for a Christmas gift. I'm known to my family as the daughter with a camera in her hand at all times. I switched to digital about 6 years ago with a cheap Hp. Moved up to an Olympus a year later and was totally happy with it till I realized there were better options that didn't have lag time...thus my venture into the dslr world about a year and a half ago. I'm learning every day and some day hope to be able to put my captures on the wall.
I live in a rural area so landscapes and my grands are most of my captures.

Whilst Mary is waiting and hoping to put one or more of her captures on the wall, I already HAVE one of Mary's shots enlarged, framed and hung. Mary is much too modest as you'll soon see. :)

Mary has a lot of EXCELLENT photos, but the one in her gallery that is called "Taking Off" is an absolutely stunning piece of work. I love it.

Gary, Deb and Sue...you all have me blushing and my hubby thinks I'm looking at porn....:D:o:D
I thank all of you for your praise...I'm a long way from thinking my photos come anywhere close to your caliber but I'm still learning and everyday it seems to get better. I do love that photo of the geese and I guess I would think it was better IF I knew what I was doing when I took it...it was more like a stroke of fate and being in the right place at the right time and having no idea what the heck I was doing...:o
But, thanks for making my day! It was a great thread to come home to.

Mary I have to agree with others. That photograph is perfect. Besides, it's not like that's the only good one you have, most of your photographs are really good. :)
