Really nice pic!
A couple of hints for next time:
- use a tripod
- use the smallest aperture that your lens offers
Your exposure time will increase a lot, but see what the results will be. ;) :)

it was on a tripod but maybe the wrong settings as this was first try at nite

Oh, no there is nothing wrong, it is properly exposed and all, but by raising the aperture from F/3.5 to the highest your lens could support, the lights would have become like little starbursts. :)
By doing that it also increases shutter time quite a lot, but the effect is worth it.
