I've just noticed a downer to the photo contest. Those who enter earlier have the most chance of winning. That's because if a better photo is uploaded later on, people who have already voted are unable to change their votes. Suggest that voting only takes place once all entries are in.

If you just go to www.proudphotography.com it tells you all about it there.

As for the photo contest, I'd tend to agree with your comments. Perhaps it is something that could be looked at.

I've been to several forums (and own a couple myself). A good way of doing the competition is simply to set up a poll after the deadline using photo titles. People can vote once all entries are made. It's so simple you could even trial this for this month's contest ;)

Hello coathanger, welcome to the PP forum!

I agree the longer your photo is displayed the more chances of getting votes you get. That's why voting closes only 7 days after new submissions are closed.

But why not, let's give it a shot, we put up the poll with the favorite photos during those 7 days next time. Thanks for the input!

Thanks admin. The problem is not that we don't get all the votes in. It's that people can't make an informed decision without seeing all entries first. There's no chance for them to change their minds later when they see something better.
