These little buggers are hard to get! I found a whole slew of them living in the cemetery in the neighboring town when I went to visit my dad. The first one was RIGHT out my window about 3 feet from my face and from what I hear about those little devils I am lucky I wasn't wearing him on my face. At least I would have had partial camo to try and capture a few shots of some more. These are not sharpened for web so they aren't as clear on here as they actually are.
Exposure 1/500
ISO 400

Picture 2: Excellent work. I like the way the squirrel is peaking from the tree. The bokeh just adds more to the environment. Very nice capture.
Picture 1: I like how the tree branches give it a little border to the picture. However, it is a tad on the soft side. Was it handheld?

The first one isn't that soft on my computer its got very good detail but when I resized it I didn't sharpen for the web. I actually didn't for the second one either but I cropped in really close so I don't think it's quite as noticeable. OH and the winds were at 50 mph that day too......notice his ears LOL
Thanks for the replies!

Cute! I love the windblown look.
Squirrels are something that I like to shoot when I go pickup my niece at her school now and then. They are so tame that a couple come within inches of your foot and can take a peanut from your hand.

I thought of getting some kind of squirrel feed and putting it out when I am there..........maybe they would figure out I am not going to hurt them. Someone would probably see me and they would cause a ruckus about it. That would be my luck. My DH wants to take me to Taylors Falls this summer so I can try and get some water fall shots. The scenery down there in general is breath taking.......i think anyway. Haven't done anything but drive through that area. Have you ever been down there to photograph anything?

Melissa - love the second squirrel.
Speaking of Taylors Falls - we're camping there at the end of May and taking the grandsons. With the boys, I may not be able to focus as much on photos, but it'll be fun either way and it is a beautiful area.
Let me know when you go and maybe we can meet up?? I'm not real far - northern suburbs.

Hubby and I are camping May 30-June 1 (last weekend in May). Don't know how much hiking we'll get in, the grandsons are 5 and 1. But I'm always up for a challenge. Check your schedule and let me know. And if you can't make it this time - I'm close enough that I'd go back.
