This week's suggestion is a picture of something that immediately makes you think of spring, but here is the challenge... the subject cannot be anything animal, vegetable or anything that lives, it has to be an inanimate object.
And here you thought that it was going to be something easy? :p :D

I think that the colours are very vibrant, but... "the subject cannot be anything animal, vegetable or anything that lives, it has to be an inanimate object."
Of course its all for practice and fun. :)

OK here is one for you. This is a garden from the park today, but not a LIVING garden. Check it out...its the "Old Shoe Garden" at the children's garden.

Sue - I love the shoes. Great take on this.
Jerry - too bad I can use anything living. I've got some good shots of sharp-tail grouse and their mating dance from this weekend.

Post them in the nature section, I'd love to see them! Since I am single, make it a video... maybe I'll pick up some hints on how to attract the opposite sex. lmao!

Jerry - you are so funny. I wished I had a video camera as well to record this - it was awesome. I've never seen anything like this.

Looks that way. Its a new week and time for a new subject perhaps?
Any ideas.
Not forgetting that the spring topic (and all other weekly topics for that matter) can be added to at any time.

How about something that is weathered. Anything at all. I want to see what everybody can come up with!

Ok, my entry to this one... (falling behind here!):

I just found this outside on my steps today... a tiny light blue egg cracked open. The fledgelings are starting to come out... spring is finally here!
This egg is about 3/4" long, quite small. I used 2 light sources on it and wanted that little shading on one side on purpose.
Something not "living" but a sure sign of spring to me. :)

Very nice! I think the shadow goes well with the subject.

I am really not too impressed with it. Its ok, but... after looking at it longer, I feel as if it is missing something. I may redo it differently.

Jerry - I like the idea of the broken egg, but yes, it is missing something. What about placing it in a more natural setting, such as a fallen bird nest or amongst a flower bed?

...and lighting that is more dramatic. I have something in my head, almost clear, but not quite. Not even sure if it is possible.
When I get more time I will try it. I actually saved the egg shell for another future attempt.

Finally, I had time to do this topic. I've had this in my head since Jerry suggested it but just no time to get the image taken. For me, this is ALL spring is about, nothing more. I've been super busy for the past week and a half, cleaning and planting my flower beds. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel but then comes all the watering each morning before work. I'm going to have to convince that hubby of mine that he can run the water hose too. :D
