Hi all. Sorry I have been away from the forum for a little while. Trying to catch up with all the great photos that you have submitted in my absence.
OK...here is my first attempt at catching the mood of my daughter expecting her first baby.
As a midwife I am always in awe of this precious time in a woman's life. Only a mother-to-be can have that wonderful serene expression.:)

Ingrid that is a very beautiful photo, that they will have forever. It is nice to be able to look at a photo like that years down the road, when your child is graduating! It reminds us how fast time goes by!Nice job.

That's a great capture, Ingrid. Your daughter will be proud to show this to her baby when he/she gets older.

Thankyou Ralph and Mary. Glad you enjoyed the moment with me.
Yes, she is a delightful model to photograph. I had many more photographs, but felt that I may be violating her to post them on this forum. She is such a private person.

Oh shoot....now I know I am blonde!
I think that will have to be the joke of the year. My apologies Susan, nice to make your acquaintance. Guess you will never forget me now :o

Ralph... Susan... close enough, it's an honest mistake to make... lmao!

I've had Debbie call me Andy once... lol

It's all good! :D

It's a wonderful photo. It's so, I don't know what word to use but it's so beautiful.

Thanks Rebecca. I know what you mean. I cannot put my finger on it either.
I think it just allows the viewer a second of an inner intimate secret moment with the mother-to-be.
She will be over tonight, so I must photograph an update. She is positively blooming now :)

OK, I must apologise, but I cannot help myself.
Here is an update on the lovely mother-to-be. 34 weeks today and still going strong.
Hey, I just found out how to take a snapshot of the thumbnails.
By the time I have to do my portrait assignment I should have had enough practice. :p

WOW - very nice. Make sure to show us photos of that baby when it is here. Do we know if it will be a boy or a girl?

Thanks Jackiee, I used a different photo, same subject for my portrait assignment and was given 9/10. I am happy about that.
The thumbnail views were in Picasa2 and was simply taken with Snagit. Amazing what you can figure out and I am always on the lookout for something different and what makes life easy.

Awesome portraits, Ingrid. Now, I need to take lessons from you to do these kinds of shots. I can take flowers but they don't talk back or move around....I'm almost afraid to move on with my lessons because of the portrait one...LOL...

I have my images done for lesson 5 but still haven't processed them or sent them in.

Thank you Mary. Here is the photo I submitted and as we are not allowed to do much in Photoshop with them, I was stuck. Normally I would have removed the horizontal lines from my house wall. So I guess that is where I lost the mark.
Daughter was not in the mood for too many poses, so this was a very quick sitting of 10 minutes. Just kept on shooting and bingo, there you have it. Guess I was just a bit lucky. Next week I will grab her again and trial my new Canon 50mm F1.4 lens. Cannot wait.
BTW sex is unknown, so we have a little surprise next month. I will be assisting with the birth as well. Have done so with my other 3 grand children here in Cairns with other daughter. I do feel blessed.

A little help with photoshop and what a difference it can make. It is Virtual Photographer and free.
Not sure if you like this, but I thought she looked even dreamier.
Here is a free plugin for photoshop you can download. Unfortunately only for PCs.
