It will stay up, so you can continue to post to any of the weekly shots. You can even start with week number 1, and go from there!

I just got in late last night from a family funeral 400 miles away and am wasted... but I did get some pics for this specific practice. I have no idea how they turned out yet... but I will post something on the weekend.

What a selection here!

Have you guys realized all these would be a great addition to this month's POTM? Just thought I'd give you a hint. It seems this month's theme is a tough one :)

I don't really bother with the POTM (I think I did it once, thats about it), I'm here STRICTLY for the pleasure of learning and sharing and practicing. The moment I enter into the POTM, I feel it turns into a competition for me in my head... and thats not my thing, though I respect all that participate and enjoy all their hard work! :)

Thank you! I'm not sure how old the bridge is but it makes me squirm every time I cross it...it does a lot of creaking.

Bring up your photo in your gallery. Right click then properties. Then copy the image link. Then when you are attaching it to a thread, click the mountain icon, delete the "http://" that already exsists, then paste photo link. Give that a shot.

By the way, that photo you are trying to attach is CRAZY GOOD!!!! Have you done any editing to this at all? If not I can only see it made even better with some post work.

Thanks Joseph. Will start again and give it a try. Only added a little brightness as there had just been a storm, and I enhanced colour a little. As the rock face was wet, it was already quite colourful.

Thanks again for your help Joseph. I am putting in another weathered rock face, also taken at Avalon Beach, Sydney. It's not as pretty in colours as the other. You can see where the weather/water has worn the rock away to leave like little stalagmites.http://www.proudphotography.com/forum/gallery/files/3/4/0/1/weathered_rock_face.jpg

Coffee,

Thanks for the comments. I was told about this "alligator" by an older couple I met out in the woods who were also taking photos that day of the creek and waterfalls. I almost missed it. But I just think it is so fun.

I think it is time to renew this thread originally by Lensbaby...

For any new members, this thread offers great ideas, as wherever we go, or even at home, there are always "weathered" items to photograph...

I am attaching a rock face fronting onto Pearl Beach, Central Coast, NSW, Australia...
To me, the weathering by the wind and water have left a piece of weathered art in this rock shelf..

Jerry. Is this on Lake Ontario in Jordan Ontario ( Just outside of St. Catharines) ?

JohnyA, I just found this thread because of your reply! I just passed that area this weekend and thought that ship would take a wonderful picture with the lake half frozen behind it .. and the stormy skies !! Jerry, great pictures - and I'd be very surprised if this is not the ship JohnyA and I are thinking of!

Love the theme! Here's one. I have been watching this cupola all loaded up and
waiting to go.......it's been waiting for a few years at least, and before that it was
on top of an old Victorian house for many more years.

I'm sure it has stories to tell.

Sandy, this is a lovely shot. It is not often that we see a little "turret" on wheels....!

I came across a shot of mine last week which looked weathered, and remembered back to the Weekly Photoshots I used to post to when I first joined.
So I decided to reassurect this thread only a few days ago with my post (just a few above), as the thread was over a year old.

I found it a most interesting subject which offered a wide scope / choice of shots, ideas, etc., which leaves open great ideas of "composition".

I would encourage other new members to perhaps post a NEW thread to WEEKLY PHOTOSHOTS, or otherwise look up some of the older ones which have some great pics, and post some new shots in the theme. (New shots can be posted to any old thread).
I learned so much from the Weekly Photoshots when I first joined; and it is fun.

Thank you Kaye for your nice comment and encouragement.
I have been wanting to photograph this cupola for some time as it always makes me smile to look at it. Thanks for the opportunity with this thread.

Kaye,

The rock formation is amazing......beautiful shot....There must be some really
interesting creatures that live there.

Thank you Sandy for your comment. From what I have seen, mainly lizards, goannas, etc seem to make this their home to bask in the sun.

by the way - are we still doing these every week challenges?? or is it now those games? there is SO much going on here...i have missed out!!!

Kaye
02-17-2010, 12:48 AM
Hi Janine,
We are still doing what is called "Weekly Photoshots", but it is certainly not weekly any more. I don't think it really ever was. Feel free to start one. The last one I started was a while back and from memory I put the date on it.

The Games are fun. These are sort of on-going and attract a good response. Each game has rules noted in the first post which will help you follow what is happening.

Hope this helps a little for now until you are completely back into it again.
