Pimp my Photo Group

Hi All

I have created a group over at flickr - Pimp my Photo

Its basically where you can upload a photo, members will download it and reupload on the group site.

ALL CREDITS AND LINKS to the original photo and photographer will be included with the uploaded edited version.

So I invite you all over to come and have a look.

The Group is very small as I only set it up this evening.

So if you fancy some fun and meeting new folk or even want to participate in the editing end of it, thats fine too just come on over and join the group.

Feel free to start a thread for a photo you would like to see manipulated by others - just to see what can be done differently whether it be for better or worse! its only fun and you might actually find a version of your image that you really like.

can I ask you what's stopping you from organizing a similar thing here on PP forum? Last time you were encouraging people to join your group at Flickr and I tried to explain why it wasn't allowed.

Getting traffic (visitors) to the website is not easy and certainly not cheap. Using most forums in the world for free promotion would be considered as spamming and your thread deleted immediately.

I know you have good intentions so I moved your thread to more appropriate section - Personal Photography Websites Promotion.

I wouldnt call it free promotion, it was a harmless site setup for fun - **ck me we cant do fun anymore!You make it seem like I am making some sort of profit from my group which I am not.

I setup a group at flickr to which I am a member.I am not trying to steal your customers.It was a friendly group setup and I invited people from here (online friends, if you will) to come and have a look.I somehow dont imagine that would have resulted in people leaving here and joining my group exclusively.I am sure people dont lie around here all day as good as the course and forums are ( please dont get me wrong) but I imagine people go elswhere for help,information and assistance too in order to broaden thier horizons if you will.

Anyway just getting it off my chest as I dont see any harm in it.
