hi everyone, i'm new here.

i recently purchased a polaroid 1000, however as we all know, the required sx-70 film is no longer made by polaroid.

i had hoped that if i put a 2 stop neutral density filter on the lens i could use the 600 film, but i don't know whether the canister will fit inside the camera.

does anyone know whether the canister fits, or whether there is another way to get around this?

thanks

Lanna - welcome to the group. Is this an older Polaroid? I did some looking and first off - have you looked to Ebay for film? Also, there is an Ebay seller that says he/she can modify an SX-70 to use the 600.

Thank you Debbie.

Yep, it's an older Polaroid, one of the first ones to have come out. I have looked on Ebay for film, mainly the SX-70 Blend (which is 600 film with ND filter on it) but it's very, very expensive. Electronically modifying the camera is an option, however at the moment I don't have the money to do so.

I just found this on Ebay and it says that is does indeed fit 600 film. http://cgi.ebay.com/Polaroid-Onestep-SX70-One-step-1000-vintage-Land-Camera_W0QQitemZ120274221305QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em120274221305&_trkparms=72%3A552%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

So, problem solved. Thanks for your help though. :)
