I want to switch my camera to raw and try it out instead of jpg but I cant figure out how to do it and i cant find my user manual (i lose everything lol) I have a canon digital rebel xti if anyone can help me figure out how to switch it i would appreciate it. Thanks

I have the XTI as well - here's how to switch:

On the back, press Menu.

The first tab (red 1) will be highlighted. Press the "set" button which is the middle button inside the circle on the bottom right.

The first option - "Quality" will be highlighted, press the "Set" button again to open up your options. Use the buttons around the "Set" button to move between your options. "RAW" will be on the bottom right, once that option is highlighted, press the "Set" button again and "Menu" to close out this screen. Let me know if this works.

Ok I get it I wasnt finding it because i was on the programed ones like portrait or something and you have to be in the manual to get the raw to work. Thank you for your help

I've just recently gotten interested in learning to shoot in RAW. This may be a dumb question (okay, just a newbie question), but do you use the same settings when shooting in RAW that you would when shooting in jpeg? (i.e. manual, shutter, aperture, etc.)

The general settings (ISO, SS, aperture), you use to get a proper exposure do not change when changing file type.
