Hi Everyone! I am seriously considering enrolling in this course. I have been taking photos for years and consider myself an 'on the fly' photographer. I have no clue about F-Stops, ISO's, aperture, metering, etc. I just love taking photos and have been told I have a knack for composition and 'feel'.

Will this course teach me all that technical stuff I need to know to help me improve? I think I need to learn the basics to really improve and to fully understand what my camera can do.

I'm currently shooting with a Nikon D40 but am considering upgrading to the D60. Any input on this would also be helpful.

Thanks and hope to see you all soon!

If you do not know anything about ISO, Fstops, Shutter speeds etc, this will be an awesome course for you. This course is great, and the instructors are even better! GO FOR IT. You will NOT be disappointed.

OK, you've convinced me! And, after looking around elsewhere on the web, I do believe this is the place for me. I'll be a student very soon. Thanks for the input!

yes great class.with regards to Nikon,i use the D300.You will not really notice any difference in the 40 -80 series.Theyre all great cameras to begin with as they have auto settings and also can be set manually. If the difference in Mp's concerns you ,you will not notice any difference in picture quality until the photos are blown up tp large .(bigger than 8x11)or so.

What if I already know about ISO, f-stops, shutter speed, rule of thirds? Is it worth it?

The Course is great for beginners. Even if you know about the technical side of things, what the course does is provide you with a structure that is well layed out. The course gets you out shooting to complete the assignments and this is really where you are going to learn a lot from trial and error.

I will also suggest that while you take the course, you spend time reading your camera manual so you know where the setting are for everything and how to use them. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing what you want to do, and not knowing your camera well enough to set it up correctly. Fumbling around in the field because you are unfamiliar with your camera only waists time and you lose opportunities.
