I'm assuming you get put out to pasture. Hehe :-)

I'm on the last lesson now and just a few shots away from turning in the assignment. One thing I think would be great, and will pass this to the feedback part of the last lesson, is if Peter and Proud Photographey would create a new course(s) that hits on things that the beggining course didn't. I know if there was such a course here, I would have already signed up for it. Things that are more specific to different types of photography.

Some things that I would like to see in this "advanced" or "Next" course:

1. Work flow of photo management.
2. Studio lighting and setting up.
3. Macro photography.
4. Wildlife photography.
5. Equipement talk.
6. Wedding photography.
7. PhotoShop editing.

Really this list can go on for a while, but you get the idea. Feel free to add to the above list. I know some may say, well you can get that information anywhere on the web, which is true, but you can also get the course info on the web too, but since I like structure, and learn better that way, I chose to join PP. And since I feel at home here, I would love to see new courses built for people like me that would continue here. As it is, I certainly want to continue some more studies in photography but will have to go elsewhere for it.

Peter: Are there any plans for any other courses here at PP?

Thanks
Joseph

Congratulations on almost being complete with the course Joseph. For a beginner's course, Peter and the crew really done a good job. For me, I took the course to freshen-up some skills I laid to rest 20 years ago. I too am on the last lesson and have enjoyed the course.

I like your ideas, but not sure if they will do such courses. There are several out on the web already, but most are rather costly. I would like to see things you are suggestion to advance one's skills and think it's a pretty good idea.

You are right, very expensive are some of them. No matter how good they are, I would never be able to afford close to $200.00 for a 4 week course.

I've saved a few few courses sites that I have yet to look over.

Joseph -

I agree with you on this one. I think in this case, we are familiar with the course, the people and the structure. It only makes sense for Peter to expand on what is being offered for those that have finished.

Hey, what a great discussion and so nice to hear our students asking for more :)

It wouldn't be Proud Photography if we didn't want to expand and improve. Yes, we do have plans on adding new courses and currently have 3 new courses being under development. I'm pleased that 2 of them even appeared on Joseph's wish list:

- Wedding Photography
- Photoshop for Photographers
- Making money with digital camera

At this stage I wouldn't like to speculate on release dates, because I'm always unhappy when it comes close to a deadline and find things can be improved even better. All students get an email once the courses go live and there will be discussion about them in the forums as well. So there is plenty to look forward to.

Bravo Peter. This is indeed great news.

I know it's hard to determine a release date, kind of like software release, but if I was to give you a number :-) like 3 months, would you say it's more likely to be outside or inside of that? :-)

And I think I can speak for most here when I say feel free to update us on the progress of the new courses. I've found that as a retired simmer waiting for new games or updates, companies that gives regular progress updates not only keep the interest of the customers they already have, but peak some interest in the ones that drop in from time to time. It's a great way to promote a new product. Cheers

That's good news Peter. I think several of us are looking forwards to seeing them released.

- Wedding Photography

That caught my attention!

I've been doing a LOT of research on wedding photography and gone as far as having done 4 weddings now as a 2nd shooter. It is so enjoyable for me, that I am very seriously considering turning it into a weekend part time supplement to my income starting sometime early next year as a professional.

Right now, I am advancing my studies in flash photography and of course settling down my basic skills firmer as well as paying particular attention to wedding photography. I've ordered and received enough wireless transceivers for my setup that I can have 6 light sources all triggered by my camera.

Before I go all out as a "wedding pro", I pan to do a lot of portraiture, high school seniors and toss in a little PJ work to scamble up a proper omlet of experience as well as hoepfully doing several more weddings as a 2nd before soloing a wedding.

Great fun!

There are tons of info sources on thet net and in books, though I know Peter is likely going to blow them all out of the water, if he releases an advanced course here covering this VERY challenging topic.
