Nikon's creative lighting system is basically a way to control flashes off camera via a commander built into the SB-800 flash and can control other SB-800 or SB-600 flashes.

To more centralize my works, I've opened up a blog and I will be posting these little trifles of info there.

So, in this series, I've made 2 blog entries... one discussing Nikon's CLS (http://jerryphpics.blogspot.com/2008/06/nikon-cls-play-time.html) and the second one a detailed methodology on how to set up CLS (http://jerryphpics.blogspot.com/2008/06/002-specific-settings-for-various-cls.html) using my equipment... a Nikon D200, SB-800 and 2 SB-600s.

The second one is not completed (though it is long and detailed), but I will complete it by next weekend as well as the next blog which will be setting up and using wireless flash with equipment from Gadget Infinity, the Cactus V2s triggers and receivers and studio strobe receivers. Where as CLS is Nikon specific, the wireless triggers/receivers are not brand specific and will be helpful to more people here.

After that, I want to start some detailed practical applications with explanations on how to accomplish various effects with all this equipment complete with detailed explanations and pictures showing results of the specific setup. We'll talk about how to accomplish things like:
- open loop lighting
- closed loop lighting
- broadlighting
- narrow lighting
- the Rembrandt look lighting
- and a few others...

I may divide them up into a separate blog entry per "style" to avoid loooooong blog entries.

So much to do... so little time! :D
