Some of you might not know, I found out somewhat recently, that there is a feature that allows you to comment on a photo. Whether it be in your gallery, or entered in the monthly contest.

After clicking on a photo thumb to view, scroll down to the quick reply area to post a comment. I don't think this feature is utilized enough. It's a great way to drum up disscussion about a photograph. And don't forget to check your photos from time to time in case there is a question or comment on your photos.

I think (unless I am mistaken), that new posts do not show up on any comments placed in the pictures gallery. That means that unless I went from picture to picture in everyone's gallery all the time, I could risk missing a comment.

Depends on what you want to do, comment on a specific pic, or share comments globally with people on the board by having a pic in a thread and us commenting on it.

I kinda prefer the latter. :)

Hi Jerry,

I see what you are saying, but this thread mainly talks about photos posted under members galleries and monthly contests. Which are one and the same, and also separate once posted for the monthly contest. It doesn't address threads in the forum that contain photos.

I just wanted to inform everyone that if, while browsing a gallery or monthly contest, there is the ability to comment on a particular photo on that same page if one wanted to.

Joseph - True, I forgot about adding comments on the gallery pictures. I happened to look at the one's I've posted for this month and that's when I saw the comments. Unfortunately, there is no indication of the new comments. Something I'll have to keep an eye out for.

The only indication that there has been a comment attached to a photo in a gallery or monthly contest, is if you bring up a thumbs view where multiple small photos are within view. There if you look at the bottom part of that photo info you will see where it says "last post", and the name of the poster will be there. But you are right, there is no other way of knowing.
