printer calibration suggestions

Although I am not totally dissatisfied with the color prints from my Canon i9900, the black and white are terrible:eek:. Very tinted. It looks like my only option is to calibrate and I am looking at Spyder 3. Can anyone shed light on that or suggest something else?

I use the spyder2 and its great, and like I said in the other post...my five year old could use it.

I second LensBaby, I've used the Spyder 2 for a while and pretty happy with it. My prints from White House Custom Color are very close to what I see on the monitor.
