Hi all,
I entered our local county fair adult open class photography today and the results were 2 red (2nd place)ribbons and 1 white (3rd) ribbon out of 7 photos I had entered. I was very happy with the results considering how many photos were actually entered and all the photos were Pre PP coursework. I am looking forward to seeing how my photos improve thru the process of completing my lessons and hopefully next year I will have Blues and contending for Grand Champion. The judge had nothing but fabulous comments for my photos and if she was able to hand out more then 1 or 2 blue ribbons 2 or 3 other of my photos would have blue ribbons.I have to admit, the photo that took Grand Champion truly deserved it and was a beautiful well taken photo.

As a side note I am going to be working on my lesson 3 work sunday as I am going to go watch a co-worker race SCCA racing and I am going to register as a photographer so I can get close action shots and work on my panning techniques. Hopefully I will have some good photos to share soon from sunday.

Lensbaby,
I can remember 2 of the 3 so I will attach them. I also had 1 rose that would have been a blue but there were so many good photos that she ran out of blues she could award before my rose came up. The one photo of the rhino got Red was a black and white image. The boathouse photo took 3rd

Lensbaby,
Thanks for the compliments on my photos. I especially thought the rhino came out very good and made me very impressed with the camera that I had only purchased 10 days prior to taking these photos.

Hopefully I will be able to show off my Assignment 3 photos here shortly as I am uploading them to the computer right now. I took around 296 photos at the SCCA race and the first session was using monopod with fast shutter and second session used tripod and slow shutter so hopefully I will have fulfilled my first 2 sections of the homework and will just need ghosting to be completed before I can move on.

Thank you very much Coffee. I am very proud of all my photos at the fair this year and I know I get a lot of attention with my photos as a few people my wife used to work with including her old supervisor stopped her and asked if I was going to be entering photos again and said they would have to make a point to go look at them when the building opened.

Debbie,
The fair ends Friday so the next time will be next year around mid July for the local fair. Most of the counties have restriction that you must be a resident so that eliminates me for other fairs this year. Not unless I can find some more online competitions to enter between now and then.
