I am wondering how i can create my own website without using something like myspace or another sort to do it. I want something simply that i can use a very simple name wwww.thenameiwant.com
hope someone can help me.

The first thing you'll need to do is check to see if the name you want has been registered and if not register the name. I have used this one to register several sites with good luck http://aletianic.com/.

Next you'll need someone to host your site and I would recommend HostGator http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml their $4.95 a month plan should be all you need to get started, very reliable hosting company.

Then you need to design your site, coffeecup software has the tools you'll need to get started at an affordable price, you'll find them at http://www.coffeecup.com/. If you're a little intimidated about designing a site, you can purchase a template. Just run a google search for website templates and you'll find hundreds of thousands to choose from with prices ranging from about $50 to several hundred dollars.

After you design your site it will have to be uploaded to your server with a FTP program, again coffeecup has a FTP program that will serve your needs.

There are better and more robust software programs to use to design and upload your site, but most of them get into the hundreds of dollars. Coffeecups programs will serve your needs to start out for about $40 a program. I would recommend them for a newbie, they're a good company that's been around for a good while with good customer support and keep their programs up-to-date.

None of this is as hard as it seems, you'll just have to jump in and get your feet wet. Sure, you'll make some mistakes, but that happens with anything you new. Besides, it's really easy to find information.

How about creating your own blog......and many are free......and very easy to put together!!

The blog is the cheapest and fastest way. www.blogspot.com is very nice. If you want your own web, try going to www.godaddy.com, they are the cheapest place to register your name and also offer webspace on their servers, but if you do this, you must be able to design it all yourself from scratch, so HTML, ASP, flash or similar knowledge is a must.
