I'm a bit confused by the whole "raw" thing. I've tried to work out how to switch in "raw" mode because I am pretty sure my shots are in jpeg at the moment.
Can someone please tell me how to change it to "raw" mode?
Also what are the benefits of doing so?
I have a Pentax IST dl camera.
thanks
Karina

Karina - check your manual to see how to set from jpeg to raw. It would probably be in your setup mode. Here is what I found for your camera, then go to Section 5.
The benefits of RAW is that has all of your picture information and makes it easier to change for example, the white balance and exposure in post processing.

Debbie found the manual online... awesome! Reference page 110 for how to set between RAW and JPG pics. :)
Be aware that you will have to use an editing program to convert them from RAW to JPG (after doing all the changes you want on the picture) before uploading them here for us to see.
