Mini Tree with drop- First Macro Attempt

Hi,

I saw this little fellow on rainy day! I needed to capture it...as this is my first Macro attempt will be great if you can advise what do you think. Any comment will be good, is the only way of improving!

Take this with a grain of salt as I don't know much about macro. I like how the light comes in at an angle, but it looks there is noise in the background. I think I also would have gotten in closer. BTW, what is it?

I just have a question. There seems to be some grain, and it pulls the eye away from the photo - Did you do any PP to this photo?

Many thanks for your feedback...I cropped the image to focus more on the subject. I'm attaching original, mabye looks better. I did some photoshop but not much. The noise behind is because depth of field...I guess I will need to buy a proper macro lens or macro extension! :)
