A challenge to all members...

In the past when it was possible to see who voted, and how they voted in the monthly contest, I would only vote for the photos I thought were the best of the bunch. I didn't want to give anyone even an average score because it can cause hard feelings. I know it shouldn't, but that's the way us humans work sometimes.

I'm glad it was changed so that you don't know who votes anymore. Now I vote for every photo in the contest. Excellent, Good or Average. I still don't give anyone a below average score. I don't consider any photo that a member took the time to shoot and post to be Bad or below. That's just me though. I just want to take the time to give some feedback to the ones that took the time to enter. We all want that right?

I try to look at everything in a photo. First to make sure it fits with the monthly topic. Next, does the photo have interest in some way. I look to see if the subject is in focus if it's suppose to be. DOF. Composition is important too of course.

My challenge to the members would be to vote for every photo in the contest that has an interest in the contest. I know some don't post or vote, but the ones that want to, I think it would be great to give all photos in the contest some feedback in the way of voting or comments.

yes - i agree its good not to see who voted...but i have noticed in past contest members voting for themselves - and this is really not fair...even to those who vote for themselves...dont you think?

I know what you mean Janine, I've done that as well with some of my photos. I know it's not listed in the rules, but it has been talked about with admin, and they state that it's within the rules to give yourself a vote if you choose. I guess if some do and some don't then it may not be considered fair. Your point is well taken.

well i went and put in all my votes and that was alot of photos to vote on but i did it and i think it is a great idea that everyone gets a vote accordingly. i liked being able to see what the votes were just so you could count up your stars and see how good you were doing not to see who voted. but i just noticed that you can put your pointer over the stars and it will say how many votes there were and what the average is so thats cool. so everyone get to voting please lol :)

I will take the time. I have not had time to participate, because I am finishing my summer semester at school, but I will be free soon! lol At least for a couple of weeks.
