Hello everyone! I am new here and have not signed up for the class yet;). I would like some feedback from all of you about the classes. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 camera, not a true SLR, but more advanced than a point and shoot. My biggest problem is that I do not know how to use most of the settings beyond the basic point and shoot settings:confused: Do you all think that the class would help me learn about my camera?
I love taking pictures and would like to improve my abilities.

You bet it will. This course teaches you the basics of photography. It's a great value. Welcome to the forum!

I can only echo the people above. The course is great for beginners and will teach you alot about your camera and getting out of auto mode.
I love your avatar picture.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I am hoping to join the class soon, next payday hopefully. I work at a hospital that has an annual photo contest and I want to be able to take some better pictures to enter in the contest. There is a cardiologist that dominates the contest every year and I would like to show him up..lol. The winners pictures are displayed throughout the hospital for a year.
A little about me.... I am a Respiratory Therapist. I work second shift with a pretty random schedule and I work every other weekend, so it really doesn't allow for any formal classes of any type. I am married. I have no children by choice. I have 3 horses, 2 dogs, 1 indoor and 3 outdoor cats. I love taking pictures of my animals. I volunteer with Team Greyhound of Ohio when I can. I adopted my one dog, Xena, who is a greyhound from them a few years back. My husband and I like to go camping and trail riding with our horses. I have a cheap Kodak point and shoot camera that I carry in my saddle bag at all times. It takes pretty good pictures for a cheap, refurbished camera. I am always ready for pictures out on the trail.

Welcome Jennifer - it sounds like you have a lot of models to practice with. You'll get alot out of this and there's plenty of free advice here on the boards.

Now I can say it. I'm glad you have horses and are nuts FOR them. With a user name like that, I would hate to think otherwise!! :-) hehe
