Camera Arrived,,,,EOS 40D DSLR

The camera arrived a bit ago,wow!!!!!!What a nice looking camera and it feels well in my hand too.Its abit heavier than I expected. If the same schedule holds true then the lens, EF 70-300IS USM should be here tomorrow. It came with a battery pack,battery charger and shoulder strap,,,,,something I was not expecting as it wasn't advertised as being in the package.

Congrats Dick, I have the same camera and I love it. It replaced my XT which is now a backup, and sometimes I wear the two of them so I don't have to switch between the glass I think I would use. The "Body Only" is still a package with those extras you listed and more. You are going to love your new camera. One thing I would suggest is a backup battery, and/or the grip we talked about. Lets face it, you can spend a million dollars on camera equipement, but certainly a backup battery even if you don't get the grip. You will wish you had an extra if you run out of power during a shoot.

I'm sure you are right about that but I probably won't be shooting that much continiously as some of you real serious folks do,but I will probably do that just in case. Whats the shelf life on one of those packs?

Sure understood. Maybe just use one battery for a while and see if you ever run out of power. If you do too many times, you might get another. If not, then it's fine the way it is. No worries. :-)
