I'm confused
I have finally got Photoshop CS3 and have spent most weekend having some fun trying the different functions out.
However I have realised that Photoshop won't open RAW files. Which hasn't been an issue as I shoot in RAW+Jpeg so was editing my Jpegs.
But obviously Jpegs are lower quality than the RAW pics.
I have been searching the internet for RAW Convertors, and unless I am mistaken these RAW convertors just change the RAW image into a JPeg! If this is true then why do I need to convert my RAW images, ehy can't I just process the JPEGs.
Have I got this all wrong?...I'm confussed...Please help!!!

I believe that your version of CS3 is not up to date. Update your version of PS. :)

There have been several vesions of ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) released, you may need nothing more than an update. ;)

Start by visiting HERE (http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/).

Hope that helps!

Thanks Jerry. It works now!
It always turns out to be something so simple.

I'll give you my secret... been there and done that... lol.
At least you had someone to tell you, I muddled with it for at least 2 hours before I figured it out. :D

And if you change cameras and find you can't open RAW all of a sudden, you may have to install a small update for that particular camera like I had to for my 40D. Took me a while to figure that out also.

And for me, it worked right off the bat. Didn't know at the time what I was doing, but it worked. Now, have you had time to do anything with it?
