I have a Sony a100 but not sure if its much different than your a200. If you have questions, just fire away. I know that Sue used to have a Sony 700 and she might be able to help too.

Very nice to see you again Mary! I think a lot of us have been busy over the summer!
Yes I did have a A100, and then also a A700. I can try to help you out.

You would not believe how busy, Debbie....LOL...not only is work getting longer and longer; I think that is because I'm getting older and older; but life in general has been super hectic. I check in once in a while to see what's new but haven't had much time to reply. Once mowing season gets over and before we get busy with Christmas rush, I'll have a bit more time. Course, once mowing season is over, all those leaves will be dropping and it takes forever to pick them all up. I'm hoping it will be easier this year as we bought a new mower with a huge bagger on it. Time will tell! I did finally get my lesson 5 completed and am proud to say I got a perfect score. If Peter knew how bad I procastinated on sending those images in, he would be laughing hard. I was so scared I'd flunk that lesson. LOL

Thanks, Sue....I hope to be here more often but I know it won't be as much as it is in the winter time.. I'm just a super busy gal during good weather. At least we have been getting enough rainfall that I don't have to water plants but I'm mowing twice a week and its almost Sept...unreal.

Hi i have a copy of the exellent Gary Friedman guide to the
A300/350, i believe he does one for the a200. you can download them from his website in pdf format for about £20 or you can buy them in book format (very expensive)

Just realized that we have quite a few Sony people here. I just recently upgraded from the a100 to the a700 and definitely loving this new body. Now, all I need is a awesome lens to go on it. Still doing research on this addition to this extremely expensive hobby. Glad to see all us Sony users on the forum.
Owen has posted some awesome images with his Sony...do a search and check them out.

Hi there,
I am REALLY new, just enrolled in the course today.
I have a sony a350.
I was wondering if it was good enough to do the course with? I have a Dt55-200mm lens and a 18-70mm lens. I have no idea about lenses yet (even if they are good or not!) and what each of them do, but they were a gift from my hubby so i really want to learn!

Hi TJ,
The Sony a350 will be more than enough to do the course with. I started with an advanced point and shoot Sony (DSC-H10) and wanted to get a new camera after the first lesson. Instead, I concentrated on the techniques to improve my skills and just recently bought a Nikon D90 before I started on Lesson 10. While I love the camera, I am a bit overwhelmed with all that it can do and I feel it has taken a bit of focus away from the fundamentals. In retrospect, perhaps waiting until the course was completed would have been a better decision for me. Good luck with the course!
Hi Aub Here, I have a Sony alpha 200 and have use it all the time, my email is aubcom@gmail.com
