Hi,
I am still contemplating if this course is for me.I still need to know so much about everything.Other than having a good eye I do not know much about the technical aspects of photography.Will this course teach me all that...including how to work the settings on my camera or where will be the best place to learn that? I have a NIKON D80 & would really like to get to know how to use the camera to it's full ability & just take great pictures.I know everyone says practice but this morning I pressed so many buttons on the camera that I cannot get it to take any picture now:D

First of all I don't know Nikons, but your question is general enough. Your camera should have a reset on it that will get it back to the out of box settings. Except for custom functions perhaps, I don't know. Reading the manual is always the best place to start I think. Do some nightly reading till you get threw it, and at the same time keep taking shots. It will all come into focus as you learn.
Yes this course is a great start for beginners. It will give you everything you just mentioned. And if you look around at other online courses, PP is a great value.
Good luck.

Your question has two answers... to get to know your camera, visit www.bythom.com and purchase the manual that he has concerning the D80. To learn how to take the best pictures you can, seriously look into purchasing the course here, its amazing and PERFECT for budding new photographers.
Good luck! :)

[QUOTE=charmusa;12494]Hi,

This course will teach you the foundation that you need! It is great, and trust me I have taken other ONLINE photography courses and nothing compares to this course. The web site is just fantastic...most of them are generic and do not have the excellent learning materials like this course has. It is great - honestly.

Charmusa - this course will teach you a lot, not only about your camera, but learing how to take great pictures. One thing that has helped me understand my camera is to go back to the manual once in a while. I find I always learn something new. You won't regret signing up - besides, there are some wonderful people on the boards.

I did go out buy this, nikon D80- magic latern dvd guide..i got it at best buy. even though, not for my camera,i thought might help me. It really is a good dvd.

There is one industry souce that is confirmed the BEST source of knowledge about your camera... it is an ebook available at www.bythom.com and the site owner's name is Thom Hogan.
Starting with just this book (http://www.bythom.com/nikond80guide.htm), it has things in it that NO other book has, up to and including the Nikon manual itself.
After you understand the workings you can start the course here (or start at the same time, no difference).
With these 2 sources alone, you will not just know your camera, but learn about photography as well. ;) :D
Finally, the best way to learn... time. Get ready to invest a lot of time reading, and more importantly, practicing all the little aspects of photography, and let me tell you, it is very easy to get some major info overload at the start. Be patient, and most of all... have fun. :)
