Hi I have a Canon EOS 400D. When I bought it I was told that it included a disk that would make it possable to download photos off my memory card that I have already deleted. Does any one know what this software is called? I have looked through my disks and this is all I can find.
Arc Soft Camera Suite 1.2
Canon EOS Digital Solutions Disk 13.1 and 14.1
Canon EOS Digital Software Instruction Manual
Canon Oixma IX4000 Setup CD ROM MCD 2.0
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as I have some shots I would like to get back.
Thanks
Brad

Why not just use a card reader or a USB cable plugged into your camera and the basic windows interface? You do not need software to move pictures around. :)

Hi Joseph,
I think my camera is just a EOS 400D, my manual has EOS Rebel XTi and EOS400D written ontop, not really sure if they are the same thing. My actual camera only has 400D written on it.

I am not really sure what you mean? I plug my camera into my PC to download photos now, but I am not sure how to get pictures off my memory card once I have deleted them on my camera.
If there is an easy way please let me know :-)
Thanks

Brad - The 400D and XTI are the same which is what I have, but I don't recall having software as part of the package to get photos off the memory card once they've been deleted off the card.
It sounds like you deleted pictures from your card before downloading them onto your computer? If you've deleted them before downloading, there is 3rd party software that can be pretty good at getting them back. Try an internet search. I had this problem earlier this year because of computer crashes. If you go through some of the posts on this board, I think me or someone else listed some of the 3rd party software to retrieve off a memory card.

I had a similar problem with a bad C/F card. You can use a piece of software called photorescue, (Google it and you should get a web page to go to.)
The other alternative is that Sandisk appears to be providing file recovery softwre when you buy one of their cards. I just purchased a 4GB card and lo and behold the sotware was included.
Of course I only discovered this after purchasing Photorescue.
What can I say?
Hope you get your photos back.
Best regards,
Paul:)

Hi Paul, I got a rescue disk called RescuePro with some Sandisk CF Cards. It's fairly good at recovering deleted images, (I think even possible on the PC Drives according to the options) hope this helps.

Oh man, I was not very clear... lol. When you delete pictures, usually you can recover them from your recycle bin (unless you have cleared that out lately or the card has been formatted).
If you have formatted the card, and used it since, there is an excellent chance that the info was already lost and unrecoverable.
If you have just deleted, as mentioned you can undelete. If you deleted AND formatted, you can recover them using software like this:
http://www.recovermyfiles.com/
http://www.stellarinfo.com/file-recovery.htm
http://www.nucleustechnologies.com/Deleted-File-Recovery-Software.html
There are others out there, but basically this is what is needed. :)
