I am new to the world of digital and have been having a problem when I order prints. If I order an 8x10 I usually end up with a 6 5/8 x 10. Not what I want. Help!

Shoot, when I order pics, I get exactly what I want. Where are you getting your prints made?
I use MPIX.com and I used Photoshop to crop them to the exact size, quality I that I need (4X6, 8X10, etc...). For prints, 300 DPI is more than enough for me.
Edit: Just noticed it was your first post here. Welcome!

I am going through shutterbug.com for my prints. And what they are telling me is that I am not cropping them to the proper size. Shutterbug states that what they see is odd size crops. I am using a canon program to do the cropping and the settings are hard to figure out as to how to get the correct size. If I go to a custom crop for 8x10 I only get half of the picture that I want. Is there something better out there?

Photoshop has the ability to maintain height/width ratios depending on the kind of crop I want to make, but even if I make a weird size crop, MPIX will still give me paper sizes that are all standard.

White House Custom Color and Millers are also excellent. These are the places that I have found to be the best for me. The Roes software is very easy to figure out. I just crop my photo to whatever size I want a print of (8X10 etc) and I am good to go. Make sure you leave enough room in the frame of the camera to be able to crop it or put it into a frame without cutting part of the photo off.
