Things have been slow at the plant farm. It's been quiet and pretty much calm and relaxing. Being such a beautiful day with great weather, I had no other choice but to pulled out the camera.

C&C welcomed.

Nice pano. If it were mine, I'd crop a little of the sky out.

Good shot. I like the balance of ground/sky. As much as you could, you stuck to the rule of thirds well. I'm going to have to try one of these shots. Can you explain how you did it? Is a tripod manditory?

Lately, I've been doing less shooting (thanks to a busy work schedule, what's new?), but when I do shoot, the topic in my head was a simple, yet profound one... metering.

What you meter off of is as profound as how you compose your picture. In the case of any picture, it is not mandatory, but it is a good practice to ask yourself "what am I trying to say with this picture, and what/who is the subject?".

Usually (but not always), the subject is the most interesting characteristic of the picture and in this case, in the above picture, it would be the house on the left. Because the metering was taken off of the sky, the house appears a little underexposed. It is certainly not a big amount. :)

What I would have done is meter off the main subject, thus blowing out a little, the sky. I then would have cropped out a little of the sky or gotten a little closer so that the field and house take up more if the scene. This is all, of course, purely personal.

I like your pano, it is well stitched together with no obvious sings of differences between the pictures. :)

Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I shot these hand held because I have the bad habit of always leaving the tripod at home. I took two shots measuring the stitched sections apart and later edit and stitched with ArcSoft software.

Thank you for the information Jerry. As a beginner, I appreciate all the help I can get.

I really like it. When I look at the sky - it looks like a painting to me! The clouds look surreal to me. I think I like the clouds being in the photo, because it makes it look so artistic.

Thank you LensBaby. I usually crop when it comes to large sky area in an image. This particular one, I left alone for the same reason you liked the sky. It was nice in my oppinion leaving it as is.
