I have been taking pictures for many years, but I just recently started to get serious about it. I have a Nikon D70 and currently upload my photos to iPhotos on my relatively new Mac Book. I am unsure how to get the picture details on the photos. Can anyone help me with this?

Are you refering to the EXIF data Shirley?

Yes, but from what I can understand, iPhoto does not support the EXIF data. I also upload into PS Elements 6, can view the EXIF data, but not sure how to upload the pictures and the EXIF data into the assisgnment area. When I save the photo to my pictures, it doesn't save the EXIF data, so I'm back at square one.

I think that iPhoto strips the EXIF data automatically. I've never used iPhoto, but that would be my guess.

No it doesn't strip it. Its there for viewing, but you can't export the Metadata file with the photo.

I recently just switched to Aperture 2 from Element 6. This allows me to export the EXIF data with the photo.

Thanks for everyone's comments.
