Yes guys i would like cc. Coffee i have not started the course yet i am still getting a feel for the camera.my usual photography for work is micro-photography ie the usual field of view is 1.5 millimeters with a depth of field of a few microns.taking real photography as you guys do is a whole new ball game.

Ok real good. Macro photography is great. I'm glad you find it enjoyable like I do. Feel free to visit my gallery and have a look at the macros I have there. I would love to see some of your macros too.

You are on the right plane of thinking in that you keep your photography eye open when while doing other things. Stumbling across a photo-op can sometimes produce some great shots. I have many shots that I took in passing that I consider some of my best. And I'm glad I stopped to take the time to get them when I wasn't expecting it. So in that respect this is a good and memorible shot.

On a technical side, this shot has some issues that that the course or any photo course will help you with. For instance keeping you shots simple by keeping what makes the photo interesting, and getting rid of, or changing things that don't add to the shot. For instance: You could have cropped out the tree on the left some because it doesn't add to the shot I feel. Rule of Thirds could have been done much better in regards to the subject, and would have made this shot more interesting to look at. Making the subject larger in the shot would have helped also I think. By not cropping the subject so close to the bottom edge of the shot, and not cutting off the chair would have made a much better composition. You can still take this shot into photoshop or other and make some of these things happen.

This is just one mans opinion. That's the great thing about photography. Everyone sees things differently, and like different things. If you have the time and energy, I would suggests taking the course. It's fun to do, and gets you thinking about your shots before you take it. Hope this helps.

OK this is my cc

I feel that if you had used the rule of thirds it could have made the composition better, but in the case of this photo as far as cropping out the left tree, I think I would keep it in because that is what he is painting.I also would have made his chair not so cut off looking. I would take out the street and the people. This is just my opinion though.

If you can afford the course, and have the time it is a great course to learn the foundation of photography. Peter is the best, and his CC rocks!

okI second all that stuff but my main point is to have you look at this picture in black and white. It really has some great characteristics in black and white.Better yet you could do the whole thing in b/w then make the easel and painting in color.??????Ithink it sounds very very cool???let me know .show it to us

That would be cool for this photo. The artwork would pop.

Chrissy -

I'm not real good at Photoshop, but here is my version. What do you think?

yes the b&w looks good, although cropping the sides so much makes me think some of the sky wants cropping to re balance the picture.

Like the B&W Deb. Here's my shot at it.

Yeah so the b&w with just the color of the painting. I also cropped out the road just to see what it would look like, because if you notice in his painting you do not see any of that. I thought it would make it more realistic to what he is actually painting.

wow i like it .mainly just for the concept of an artist adding color to an otherwise drab world.Very nice even wout the color.house looks victorian or english in b/w.

I agree it is so much fun. It also lets you see just how "subjective" art including photography really is!

Thank you all for the modified versions of the original pic , they are all good and very different . I will have to do some experimenting with Photoshop so I can do these type of modifications myself
